Reach Pilates Studio
Reach Pilates is located in a beautifully appointed, fully equipped studio at 833 Emerson Street in the heart of downtown Palo Alto. Our extensively trained and highly certified instructors have been providing classical Pilates instruction to the Palo Alto community since 1998. We offer private and semi-private training as well as small group classes.

What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise system developed in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates which emphasizes balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility and body awareness. The exercises are performed both on the mat and on spring-resistant apparatus designed by Joseph to rehabilitate soldiers after World War I. Pilates exercises are a series of controlled movements executed with a focus on core musculature, breath, and the quality (not quantity) of the movement. The Pilates method will improve your strength, flexibility, concentration, control, breathing capacity, and precision of movement through the exercises that Joseph created.

Reach Pilates Instructors
Reach Pilates Studio employs only fully certified and widely experienced trainers who work out injured and beginning students at the appropriate level, constantly challenge the evolving student, and ensure that students work with precision by cueing students to correct movement patterns. All trainers at Reach have movement backgrounds and came to this work through passion and dedication.

Pilates at Reach
We offer Pilates training for everyone. Our introductory session, available to first time clients, is the best way to get started. Your trainer will introduce you to the Pilates method and our gorgeous studio. You will discuss your health history and fitness goals, and the trainer will assess your physical capabilities in order to provide you with a personalized program.

After the introductory session, students generally enter the Reach Pilates program through a series of five to ten private sessions. Thereafter, students may choose to continue with private or semi-private training, or join our weekly class sessions.

We offer more than 40 classes per week for groups of up to five students. Our schedule includes both mat and apparatus based classes for all levels. Classes are available on either a drop-in basis or an eight-week session.
